On November 19th, I attended Rebecca Webb Wilson’s photo show at the Cultural Arts Center. Wilson is a very well-known photographer that has traveled to many places in the world, including Mount Kilimanjaro. The purpose of this event was to promote her work and photos, as well as discuss her newly released book, “Well-Seasoned: Savoring Life’s Lessons.”

Wilson’s book features photos intended to reflect special moments in life through different seasons of the year. Her creativity in this work, as well as the rest of her pieces, is outstanding to say the least.

The event was a meet and greet for Rebecca, where those in attendance had the oppurtunity to introduce themselves and view her work. After that, everyone joined together in the room to hear Rebecca talk about her work and all of her projects. She discussed her book in detail and showed what it was truly about. Something I appreciated was the fact that five dollars of every book purchased at her photo event was donated to the University of Alabama’s chapter of Society of Proffesional Journalists (SPJ). Rebecca Wilson is an inspiration to those who desire to fufill their dreams in life.
